fuckyeahtattoos:

Hey my name is Jeni, I’m 19, and this is my third tattoo. I decided to get this mermaid as a half sleeve because I wanted something different. I love this tattoo because it has an elegant look to it like stained glass. The artist that did such an amazing job is Derek Matherne at Southern Sting Tattoo Parlor in Larose, Louisiana. All together the tattoo took up 7 whole hours of work straight, I don’t regret one second of that time. This has to be my favorite piece and I have to thank Derek for making it look exactly how I imagined.

SO SICK

Suicide Note, a poem by the Damn Wonderful Ashley

iamdamnwonderful:

…truth is,

I chose this spot.

Long before this day

[…]

The coroner will come

and the clean up crew

will sanitize the stain left

on the pavement.

My attempt at a star in the sidewalk…

Ashley Catharine is one of the six amazing poets you will see in the film, Damn Wonderful this fall. Click on ‘source’, Ashley’s website, to read the full poem. Also, follow her on tumblr at http://thatstarvingartist.tumblr.com/.

Unlocked

I did not know

I was a safe.

Did not know there was

Some treasure lodged inside

Of me.

There has always

Been a padlock

Placed across my

Glass doors.

I am not precisely sure

Who came along with the combination

How they managed to get me open again,

With a set of bolt cutters

And determination?

I am ready

For the first time

In my whole life.

I never saw it coming.

Thought it would be more fanfare

Than this.

I thought only someone else

Could be held responsible

For my broken shackles.

Thought only someone else

Could love me whole.

This door is unlocked.

I know eventually

Someone else will share

In this happiness

But I didn’t realize

I had to be the one

To let them in.

benppollack:

JC Penney’s new ad for Father’s Day
The text reads:
“First Pals: What makes Dad so cool? He’s the swim coach, tent maker, best friend, bike fixer and hug giver—all rolled into one. Or two.” The text at the bottom reads: “Real-life dads, Todd Koch and Cooper Smith with their children Claire and Mason.”
